About Amanda Mullen
My love of sport & fitness started from a very young age, playing netball for the school team aged 10. From then I went on to enjoy many years of netball during my secondary school life and university. Along the way I took up tennis, basketball and then squash which was more of a challenge fitness-wise. Once I was in the big wide world, my city project management job seemed too sedentary for me, so I joined the gym attached to my office and used to furiously fit in spin classes, aerobics & gym-work in a lunch hour! About then, I took up running to improve fitness on the many types of courts I found myself playing on. I found I benefitted from the stamina gained on the gym & running work and so played my sports better.
Years passed on this regime … I ran the London Marathon, played netball for Surrey, joined basketball, tennis & squash clubs & played competitive matches. Then I got married and had children (4!) & funnily enough had less time! My city job had to go but not being happy with just staying at home, I decided that becoming a Personal Trainer would mean that I could combine my job with my hobby of sport & exercise.
And so it has …. I trained and qualified as a level 3 Personal Trainer with the YMCA and have now been running with AM Training for over 10 years. I love my job and get so much satisfaction out of motivating & encouraging others to keep fit, stay healthy & enjoy exercise.
